The EU Grants and Compliance Coordinator will develop a more compliant, cohesive, and accountable environment for managing our growing levels of EU income in ActionAid.
You will be part of the EU Funding Unit in the Institutional Funding Team tasked with working with ActionAid members to support effective grants & compliance management of a growing portfolio of EU (INTPA/NDICI) grants and supporting the diversification to other EU funding stream grants as well. You will set up EU compliance monitoring systems, quality check donor reports, provide guidance to our country offices on the donor contractual rules, and implement internal controls to strengthen financial management and track donor income. The role will also produce expenditure and compliance and risk management reports, as well as contributing to improving team EU business development processes and operational guidelines.
You will also be connected to a wider institutional Grants & Compliance Unit in the Institutional Funding Team and have the ability to contribute to key organisational projects such as cost-recovery, co-financing, or partner risk management and through a Federation wide Grants & Compliance Community of Practice. While primarily focusing on EU grants, there will also be opportunities to support other donors at peak times such as UN, Norad, USAID.

In addition to experience in meeting the requirements of the role above, you must have a relevant diploma, degree and/or professional qualification. This must be complemented by an excellent working knowledge of institutional donor rules, regulations, financial control procedures and risk management. You will be comfortable providing clear guidance on donor policies and procedures to other staff and will have been involved in setting up and managing donor compliance monitoring systems and business processes. You will be expert at financial reporting and audit preparation too
