We are now seeking to recruit an EU Funding Officer to join the team. Working closely with the EU Bid and Contract Manager and the EU Finance team, you will help identify major EU opportunities and support academics throughout the bid, negotiation and implementation stages of major Framework Programme research programmes. You will provide specialist advice on European funding, rules for participation and contract matters to facilitate access to this funding stream which is of strategic importance to the University. You will join a busy team and have the opportunity to work on a variety of proposals including large multi-partner collaborative bids and ERC proposals.
Educated to Degree level, you must have knowledge and experience of the European Framework Programmes, European institutions, policies, procedures and funding mechanisms – especially for research. Candidates with a strong bid management background will also be considered. You will have excellent communication skills, be well-organised with the ability to multi-task and to work well as part of a team. The joint secretariat will be under the responsibility of the Managing Authority and will be settled in Santander (Spain). Specifically, the Joint Secretariat: a) cures, in a transnational level, the coordination, the monitoring and the promotion of the activities of the Programme; b) receives the project proposals from the beneficiaries (through the lead beneficiary), verify the admisibility of the proposals, carry out the administrative assessment of the proposals in collaboration with the Member States, and paying special attention to put in place of the admisibility and selection criteria; finally, the joint secretariat write up the assessment reports; c) is responsible for the implementation of the tasks of information, advertising and communication of the Programme, in particular the general communication of the programme and the information and dissemination of the calls for projects in accordance with the guidelines agreed by the Monitoring Committee and the instructions of the Managing Authority.
